Steve Lumley

Steve Lumley, Founder & CEO of LGI CFO, located in downtown Cincinnati, Centerville and Northern Kentucky, is an expert on strategic financial management.

His outsourced CFO business has served hundreds of small and middle market, privately-held and not-for-profit companies since he founded the business in 1990.

Prior to founding LGI CFO, Steve served as the CFO of two companies - a billion dollar bank and a computer software company.  Before that he had big four audit experience.  An accounting graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, Steve has a MBA from Indiana University in finance and banking and a CPA.

"I saw over the years that a lot of privately-held businesses and not-for-profits had challenges managing their financial functions," he says. "They didn't need a full-time CFO, yet they needed that skill set. My company frees up entrepreneurs to do what they do best, which is to promote their businesses, develop products and services and generate new business. This allows the entrepreneur to create new employment opportunities and introduce innovations that enhance the quality of life."

Steve humbly admits that his mission is to help clients survive and thrive-in any economic climate.  "I'm most proud of my calling when my clients sleep well at night," he says.

Alan Baker

Alan Baker has twenty five years of experience as a CFO and Controller of privately held companies. Industry experience during that time includes primarily manufacturing but also service companies. Alan's private industry experience has been with companies ranging in size from start up to $60 million in sales.

Prior to Alan's private industry experience, he had ten years of big four audit experience leaving as a senior manager.  While much of the big four experience was in manufacturing, approximately one third of the experience was with higher education and other non profit organizations.

Alan's strengths include cash flow management, cost reduction, budgeting and forecasting, acquisitions, banking and  accounting systems including cost accounting.  Alan was the 2011 Cincinnati Business Courier CFO of the Year for companies under $100 million in sales.  Alan has a Bachelor of Science Business Administration degree in accounting from Indiana University.  Alan serves on the finance committee of the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

"My approach to client service is to identify those things that can help the company be more efficient, reduce costs and improve the bottom line.  In line with this I strive to give the client tools which they can use to gain a better understanding of what drives their profitability.  If appropriate in the circumstances I also look to find ways to encourage client personnel to take on new and different things so they can become a bigger contributor to the company's success." 
 

Tom Miller
Vice President & CFO Advisor

Tom Miller has been a CFO, controller and vice president of finance at a variety of greater Cincinnati firms since 1987.  

Miller was a controller for five years for a Cincinnati specialty chemical distributor, where his duties included financial reporting, developing budgets, and integrating acquired companies.  He is a former CFO for a Cincinnati advertising and marketing consulting firm; controller for a medical temporary staffing company; and vice president of finance and administration for a Hamilton, Ohio steel company.

His talents include an ability to create budgets and projections, as well as his experience with acquisitions and creating and maintaining great relationships with colleagues, clients, vendors and bankers.

"I enjoy the broad range of responsibilities that go along with being the top financial person at a small- or medium-sized organization," says Miller. "I like being involved with the bankers, outside accountants, attorneys, sales force, benefits and IT personnel." 

He graduated from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance, is a CPA and holds a master's degree in business administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati. 
 

David Biddle

CFO advisor

David H. Biddle is a CFO advisor who focuses on acting as an outsourced CFO for LGI clients.

He budgets for and projects operating results and working capital requirements, leading efforts to improve timeliness of reporting. He also mentors financial personnel.

Biddle is a former CFO/CIO in charge of accounting, finance, and IT at Corporate Financial Group.

He is an expert in information systems, and in the IT area he concentrates on software evaluation, selection, and implementation, as well as quality management. 

He leads accounting system conversions to new software, and analyzes and models distribution channels and margins.

"I really enjoy determining ways to improve processes and help companies streamline, eliminate waste, and move forward," he said.

He also worked as an executive vice president and vice president of operations for a manufacturer, and was a corporate controller for a large investment holding company.

Biddle earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting at Wright State University in 1987, and is a CPA.
